HOW TO BE A LIFEGUARD

This is one of the most important parts of being a lifeguard, and the one that can save someone’s life. Once you complete the book test, the water test, and get your certifications for CPR/ First Aid, you will do a practical guard for two hours. During those two hours you will guard with a certified guard, who will show you ‘the ropes’ and how to check chemicals. You are now almost a lifeguard; your teacher will pass you after the practical to make you an official lifeguard. Now, the hardest task finding a pool that looks like a place you will be happy at. In order to find the right pool for you, go and look at the way the pool is ran. Ask the employees if they are happy to come to work, and if its looks like fun and then apply. The key to being on top of your skill as a lifeguard is begin happy and enjoying what you do. The day that you find that being a lifeguard isn’t fun then your probably too old. Being a lifeguard is the most fulfilling job as you get to be respected and envied by kids. You are role model and someone who can save another persons life at any given moment. ...
