The House Of Mirth is a plain novel. It is a very tedious work, and I did not like it! I will be discussing the plot summaries of the book. The first half of the book is expository and is very bland. It had too much description, yet I do feel it is necessary in order to build a sort of repore with the reader. There are many areas of rising action and suspense in this novel. However, I do feel that they set the reader up for a let down. The author keeps ones interest until the very last chapter, and then takes Lily away from you and leaves you with many questions and no answers.Overall, I enjoyed the book, however, I would not recommend it if suspense and death are not accepted by the reader....
