In ghettos Nazi wanted Jews to starve or die from diseases. One of the ghettos was in Warsaw. German authorities did everything to seal off the ghetto not to allow a single gram of food. A wall was put around ghetto on all sides that didn’t leave a single millimeter of open space. Several guards were appointed for the walls and the passages through them (5).At the Wannsee Conference in January 1942, Hitler discussed the deportation to the concentration camps of 3.5 to 4 million European Jews. The “Final Solution” officially reached its final stage in early 1942. Nazis started to deport people from invaded countries to the death camps that were in Poland. Life in camps was a cycle of hunger, humiliation, work and death. People lived in a small barracks, worked seven days a week. Medical experiments were performed on prisoners. Here is the part from the letter from Standartenfhrer Sievers Dr. Brandt: “For certain anthropological researchers – I already reported to the Reichsfhrer-SS on them – 150 skeletons of prisoners, or rather Jews are required, which are to be supplied by the KL Auschwitz”(6). Auschwitz was the largest death camp. In the camp the large chambers were installed were the Jews were gassed. When Jews arrived there, they were separated from their families. Strong, young people were taken to work in the camps, while weak and old people were taken to the gas chambers to be gassed. The SS soldiers told prisoners that they were going to take a shower, so they had to undress in an open place close to the gas chambers and give all their belongings to the soldiers.
