Hustler Magazine vs Jerry Farewell

th Amendment prohibit public figures, such as Jerry Falwell, from recovering damages for emotional distress.I think that Hustler Magazine is attended for an audience who does not take offence in crude jokes or comments. If you read something in an adult magazine, it should not be taken seriously. Another thing that bewilders me is how Jerry Falwell found out about the parody. Was he reading the magazine himself in the bathroom when he happened to run across his name? What was man of his stature and his honor doing with an adult magazine? Jerry Falwell was a nationally known minister who had been active as a commentator on politics and public affairs. I agree with the Supreme Court reversing the previous verdict. I am insulted when I hear about people trying to receive money for suffering emotional distress. I think when Mr. Falwell read the article, he laughed then schemed up a way to make some fast money. But, the First and Fourteenth Amendment stopped him from scoring some money off brilliant men like Mr. Larry C. Flynt....
