Charles continued to see an old girlfriend, Camilla Parker-Bowles, on a regular basis (Morton, Story 4). On November 5,1981, Diana announced she was pregnant and the jealousy became more believable through the entire pregnancy (Morton Story 112). Diana was always finding evidence that the two were seeing each other. She found notes, letters, and one time Diana answered the telephone and it was Camilla asking for Charles. The jealousy continued to cause her more pain through her marriage. At 9:30 p.m. June 21, 1982 ,Diana gave birth to a baby boy, which meant that someday he would carry on the throne of the monarchy (Morton, Story 112). It took several days to name Baby Wales. Charles wanted to name him Arthur, but Diana’s choice was William. They chose to name him Prince William Arthur. In 1984, Diana found out she was pregnant again. This time Charles was hoping for a girl. A sonogram had already shown that their second child was going to be a boy. It was a secret Diana kept until September 15, when Prince Harry was born. Charles was not to happy of the outcome of their second child. He just looked at Diana and said, “Oh it’s a boy”, and left for his polo game. Diana told her friends about the reaction of Charles by saying, ”Something inside me died” (Morton, Story 126-127), This was the starting point of their marriage falling apart. The tension of the royal couple’s marriage often resulted in shouting matches, and the arguments got more tense as the marriage came closer to the end (Morton Life 10). In 1992, Diana and Charles separated and Diana left the royal family (Morton, Story 205). When Diana and Charles made their decision to let the public know of their separation, they made sure that their children were protected (British Broadcasting Company 11).
