ol he learns our culture’s tradition and folklore. By learning about the Taos Pueblo he will be able to effectively carry on our culture’s storied tradition. It is very important for my son to learn about us because our people really don’t care much for outsiders coming into the tribe. We are a people who like to keep to ourselves and not get involved with people outside of the Taos Pueblo. This unwritten rule applies especially to marriages. It is frowned upon when a member of our group marries a person from the outside world. Many of these marriages often end in divorce because they are simply not meant to be.With all of our cultural roles put aside, it could be said that the Taos Pueblo is all about sticking to tradition and staying united. In the past our people have gone through a lot together. In the past the Spanish threatened our lands and we managed to impede their progression into our culture. In addition the United States government also tried to take away our land in the past, but through everything our people have pressed on into the future so that the past would forever be preserved. It is our undying loyalty to the culture, which has kept us going as a people and will continue to do so in the future. Day in and day out everyone here does their part whether it is in the home or out in the fields to make sure the Taos Pueblo thrives and we will keep on working to make sure our traditions remain the way they are and were meant to be....
