The Crash

the dash into three different section. I was just sitting there thinking if that could of just happened. Confused I threw open the door, get out of the pickup I realize I should probably go sit down as I notice the blood running off my face. A very kind man who observed the accident, rushed over to help. He had a towel that he held against my head to help stop the bleeding, as well as trying to be still so he would not move my head. I just could not have help but to notice that I was more calm than he was.Soon the ambulance arrived. They began by very carefully getting me on the stretcher and putting a neck brace on and strapped me down tight. They rushed me into the ambulance and I was off to the hospital. The hospital was a lot of waiting and I was strapped so tight to that board that my tail bone begin to hurt worse than anything else.Three hours later they had removed 50 pieces of glass and given me ten stitches in my head. The x-rays showed no sign of harmful injury other than the stitches in the forehead. This day is still just a clear to me as yesterday. It’s a painful way to learn to wear your seatbelt. So the day of January 20, 1998 is a constant reminder of how fragile life really is....
