The Road of Censorship

f censorship. Either by banning textbooks, or video games anything anywhere, intrudes on your freedom. To protect free speech you must also protect everyone's rights, even if you strongly disagree with their beliefs. All thoughts no matter how ignorant to you is still a freedom and should be protected. This is best stated by Grey and EFAWhatever its starting point and supposed intention, the end of the censors road is repression of 'dangerous ideas' - not only about sex but about moral, politics, art, and life. Opposition to censorship must inevitably involve us in defending things and people whom we may disapprove of (sometimes passionately). Voltaire well known saying that 'I detest what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it' may seem trite to us but as apposite as it is ever was (Qtd. Censorship and Free Speech 4). Even if you despise some ideas out there do not try to suppress them, just do not buy into them or take part in them in any way. It is up to the individual to take his or her own life the direction they want to go. The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States guarantees your right to free speech and free expression. To censor by any means takes away that right, you should choose to fight for your's and everyone else's rights to freedom. ...
