Now you attend AA Meetings, group counseling, alcohol education, and relearning social skills. For the Patients that never acquired certain skills are in a process called habilitation. They’reLearning for the first time. They usually have few skills, outside resources, family, Friends, home and employment to support them. These patients are referred to HalfwayHouses. Here they are supervised and learn to develop personal relationships, acquire Social and coping skills and responsibility. This last from three months to two years.The next step is out patient therapy. This is when the patient seems ready toMove to this stage of treatment. There are public or private hospitals and clinics they can Go to. Some common therapy is meditation, relaxation, acupuncture, biofeedback, Nutritional counseling, assertiveness training, art, writing, dance, occupational, Page 4Vocational and recreational therapy.
