Thurgood Marshall

rshall known throughout the world as Mr. Civil Rights, help shape and mold the racial segregation fight and used the constitution as a legal bible in defending Afro Americans. Thurgood wasn’t concerned with the value of money; Thurgood would work for free just to help his people. Thurgood learned his wisdom early in life from his mother and father (Norma Marshall, William Marshall). Thurgood worked for the NAACP more than twenty years before retiring. Thurgood wasn’t always a true advocate of the legal system, until he met Charles Huston, (1933 Howard Law School) who helped Thurgood understand the United States Constitution better. Thurgood had many accomplishments during his years, but his two favorite accomplishments were; the school segregation case (1954) Brown v. The Board of Education of Topeka Kansas, and his appointment (1967) by President Johnson as a Supreme Court Justice. Thurgood lived a long an enduring life. Thurgood understood that the best way to defeat racial segregation was to defeat it in the court system. Thurgood was fortunate to have been marry to two beautiful women. Thurgood first marriage was with the beautiful Vivian Burey, who Thurgood met during his tenure at Lincoln University. Vivan died of cancer in 1953. Thurgood’s second marriage was with Cecillia Suyat (Phillpoipne born). Thurgood met Cecilia during his tenure with the NAACP. Thurgood and Cecillia had two sons Thomas Jr. and John. Thomas Jr. a well-established lawyer works for the office of the Vice President, and John works for the Virginia State Police Department. Thurgood Marshall retired from the Supreme Court in 1991, due to heart problems. In 1993 Thurgood Marshall at the age of 84 dies from a massive heart attack. Thurgood Marshall name can be mention in the same tone as Martin Luther King, both made big changes in the racial segregation culture and they did it without using violence.
