g out. Being careful not to spill oil on your hands. (Never change oil if engine is hot!) While the oil is draining carefully examine the plug for the rubber or metal gasket (little ring at the base of the plug). After 10min. have gone check to see if the pan is draining or not, if draining has slowed to a drip, then you can replace plug and start the finishing steps. When putting the plug back in you want to tighten it snug, but careful not to over tighten. Over tightening will cause it strip out and leak. Once the plug is back in you can begin to fill the car with new oil. To do this you must find the oil fill cap and remove it. Fill the car to the factory standards, which are listed in the back of the manual. After removing all tools from underneath the vehicle you may lower the car back to the ground and remove the blocks of wood from behind the tires. Replace the oil fill cap to the engine and proceed to start the engine. After running the engine a few minutes look under the car to see that there are no drips or leaks. Then using the dipstick remove it at check the level of fullness, if at the full mark then you are finished and ready to go another 3,000 miles. Well you have just finished changing you own oil and saved some money, how do you feel? You should feel proud, excited, and most of all a feeling of accomplishment. Because you just did it all by yourself! Congratulations!! ...
