When asked the question whether the casino had a good economic effect on the valley I found that almost all or ninety four percent found that indeed it did. When asked the question whether it effected there lifestyle the answer was usually no that is eighty seven percent said no. Now this surprised me since they thought it had such a good economical effect. While looking on the Internet for information to compare my study to I found a lot of holes in it. First of all I did not use any age discrepancy I also did not account for race. I did however ask if they were over eighteen and were allowed to gamble. According to a report by the national study of the impact of gambling association that about four million Americans are considered problem gamblers and that most of them lived within fifty miles of a casino. The report also found that about one in every seven adults has never gambled leaving a very high percentage. After all of this I realized that it is really hard to get accurate information in studies like this, there are so many other things to take into account. I then set out to find what affect the casino had on the crime rate and bankruptcy percentage in town. I went to the police station, they told me that the crime rate since the opening of the casino compared to population increase has actually fallen. This I found to be exactly opposite of what I thought I was going to find out. I then went to several different banks around town and asked if the casinos opening had any effect on the amount of people claiming bankruptcy around the valley.
