education and violence Laptop schools show beneficial not only to the teaching staff but also to the students. The only real problem I see with this program is that if every student had to buy there own notebook computer in some areas the student may not have the mean to purchase one. If the schools were willing to purchase each students notebook and issue them at the beginning of the year that would be more acceptable. The program its self is wonderful, the teachers are not just handed the programs and expected to understand, but trained at several workshops. In addition, not only are the teachers and administrators involved with the entire process the students are as well. The teacher does not have to change the entire curriculum but to integrate it with other topics. The students preparing a self help book for other students and teacher to view is a good idea, because not every student or teacher will have the same problem and they are able to solve the problem together. The caption on page 81 stated the schools should help fund 50-80 percent of the teacher’s purchase of personal computers. I totally disagree because most schools are federally funded. I think it should be the schools burden to purchase the computers and software. It will eventually happen when all of the schools are technologically taught.
