email Should Companies Be Allowed to Read Their Employees' Email In today's society there is so little privacy; in the home, community and in the work place. No one seems to have the basic rights to keep their business theirs without others spying or prying into their private affairs. I don't feel that it is appropriate for a person's boss to read their e-mail. Employees do have some rights and they should be respected. I feel if there is a problem with e-mail being used in offices then there should be a policy against it all together. E-mail is another form of mail. You don't see anyone's boss checking their postal mail do you? Simply because someone works at a certain place does not mean he or she has to cater to the every whim of their boss. You are entitled to your private life along with keeping their jobs. Furthermore, why should a company be allowed to check its employees' e-mail. I feel that if you have hired these employees, then there must be some level of respect. So they should not worry about what is being e-mailed to them. I think it is just another way for people to put it plainly "be nosy." So in conclusion, I feel that a person's boss has no right to check his or her employee's e-mail when the Bibliography:
