god4
god4 “You know that you believe in our God and in our religion (United Methodism), and that is what you live by.” Thus began my new excursion with Christianity. For the first time in my few years of life, I was faced with the fact that my loyalty to the Lord was not based on my own beliefs, but what had been spoon-fed to me for the past sixteen years. I had accepted what my family and friends had told me what was true and had never found my own connection with any form of God or religion. I began to explore every Sunday trying to find my place among the millions and millions of people who are faithful to something or someone. I decided that if I was going to follow in faith, I should become educated and choose a faith that I was comfortable with. And so, from the synagogues to the mosques to cathedrals, to just plain old churches, I took my seat among many congregations of many walks of faith. As I sat in the crowds of as few as (a record breaking) forty three people to as many as three hundred people in each house of worship, be it Christian or otherwise, I felt the presence of a force that drives us all to be of faith. In a way that I have in no way found ironic, I ended up resting in the same seaaat of the same church that I attended for sixteen years before my adventure, but that is not the popint. Christianity can only be truly achieved through personal experience with Christ. Bibliography:
