It just goes to show how far they will go to keep smoking popular. www.no-smoke.orgBig tobacco has even went as far as to attack the science used to estimate how many people die from cigarette smoking each year by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A claim was made that the government counts as a smoking-related death all smokers who die from a certain disease, even if they had other risk factors for the same disease. This claim was totally fictitious. In reality, the CDC attributes only a percentage of deaths as being due to smoking based on the best medical science. Another claim was made that many of the deaths from tobacco are not premature. However, studies have shown that between the ages of 45 and 64 smokers are three times more likely to die and two times more likely to die between the ages of 65 and 84 than people who have never smoked. The fact is that 33 percent of non-smokers live to age 85, compared to only 12 percent of smokers. The truth hurts. www.no-smoke.orgA live bullet was placed in Dr. Wigand’s mailbox.
