Yet when we do get the news we are seeking we usually get the same type of story that we always get, hence if it bleeds it leads. Newscast writers put a lot into their newscasts, they can make a situation into something that becomes very important or into something that is not even worth the four seconds of air time it gets. The newscasters are sharing with us their information in return for our loyalty to their station. In conclusion it has once again been brought to my attention that newscasts are not what we think them to be. It is a shame that so many people rely on the news as their one and only source of information about the world. I enjoyed reading this book, it taught me a lot about the news in a somewhat humorous way, it showed me how the news is relevant to American social history, and it also changed my own personal opinion even more so than the last project did. ...
