hildren can move their dinosaur dance across the room. Challenge them to follow the sequence each time and to change the energy of their movements when the music changes dynamic quality. Tell them that this is a solo dance; there are no partners. However, they can face another dinosaur when they are frozen in their stance. Encourage them to leave plenty of room for the other dinosaurs, for their huge bodies and tails. 5.Play the song one more time for the class. This time, have them sit and listen to the dynamics of the song. Instruct them to raise their hands when they feel the dynamics are loud and when they are soft. Have the students say the word loud or soft as they raise their hands. 6.At the end of this activity, ask the students:-“How were the movements you made in The Dinosaur Dance like the ones you imagined?”-“Do you think it was easy or hard to follow the sequence in this song?”- “Which did you find harder to do- move gently or move with strength?” Assessment:Observe the students and see if they are changing the quality of their movements during the last two stages of the dance- gentle, then strong. Discuss what changed in the music to suggest the difference in movement energy. (The dynamics were softer, then louder; there were fewer instruments, then more instruments.)...
