If pornograhpy is the main issue of concern among these politicians, then the reason for concern is valid. The internet is a vast space of information, and just like the real world, there are dark corners were illegal activity gathers. However, responsible adult web pages have taken action to prevent kids from gaining access to these sites. From services like Adultcheck and Ibill, which require major credit cards for verification and access, to parental control software such as NetNanny, which allows the administrator to restrict any content deemed necessary, there are abundant options when the question is how to restrict access. But, is it the responsibility of the government or of the parents to regulate a childs access? The Government should set forth policy that makes it mandatory to take preventive measures that restrict minors from being able to view obscene material.
