very pleasing to the ear, which I think is one of the reasons so many people are familiar with the work and go to see it every year. The main personal emotional response I have to this show is about how beautiful it was. I was sitting near a group of men’s lacrosse players, and even they managed to quiet down and pay attention! Although I am not a very religious person, the Biblical inspiration of this story moved me, especially because it was about the birth of Christ and it was nearly Christmas. It reminded me of going to church on Christmas Eve with my family. I think that this is part of the special draw The Messiah has for people, the fact that it inspires these religious and seasonal feelings in them.
