em more active by playing with figurines or playing with their friends. TV is a tool to younger people; they know that what they see is not something to be duplicated. For younger people it is their major form of entertainment and there is nothing wrong with that. It was mine, and I don’t think that because I watched the turtles that I want to go do what they do.Music today has come a very long way from how our society went about listening to it, and performing it. We now have many more genres of music than ever before. There is now a genre for almost every type of listening style. From classical music to hard-core death metal, there is quite a spread spectrum. I believe that this allows everyone in our society to react differently, and allows and accepts that we are all different. Music is a way to express our emotions or to change moods that we are in. Listening to some songs can either lift your spirits when you are feeling down or can hype you up for an activity that you would be engaging in.The music that has impacted me the most is known as Pop music. Pop or popular, was different when I was younger than it is today. Today Pop music is mainly controlled by so called “boy bands”. When I was younger it was, well at least I believe, much better, with bands such as MC Hammer, and Vanilla Ice. Those guys were influential to the way I thought, the way I dressed, and the hairstyles. I wanted to look like them because they were known as the cool people, our role models. Nowadays I listen to a more wide variety of music. The oldies are now one of my favorite genres of music. I always despised the oldies station as a kid driving in the car with my parents. Now I can’t get enough of them. It also seems that I know a lot of lyrics, like its embedded in my head. I usually listen to the oldies for the fun of singing them or to reflect on the past.
