The addition of slides and valves in the 1800s brought new life to the trumpet as it was used more frequently in orchestral writing. Some popular solo trumpet pieces include; The Artunian, The Hummel, The Hynd, Rhapsody in Blue, and The Sandoval. These pieces were especially written for trumpet players to help them display every aspect of their instrument to their audience.All in all, the trumpet has been through a lot and is obviously the most important instrument of all time.
