samee "I would stress that any successful company develops its people along with its infrastructure ."The Habtoor Group Chairman , Mr.Khalaf Al Habtoor has personally led the group from it's establishment in 1970, to its present situation as one of the most successful companies in the Middle East region . Starting his business at a young age , his education only in the U.A.E. , after finishing he joined Al-Mulla construction company as a trainee. Mr. Khalaf believes, "That training programs are essential to the success of any enterprise." The habtoor group is now one of the most respected companies in the U.AE. , with interests in engineering ,auto sales and distribution ,hotels ,real estate ,education and entertainment .The Habtoor group has interests not only in the U.A.E. but also in Lebanon ,Jordan ,Egypt and Europe. His latest accomplishment is the Metropolitan Hotel in Sin El Fil .He grinned and said "That the hotel will be the only five star hotel in Lebanon after the Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel." It has 180 rooms, 12 business suites, 2 presidential and a 800 meter square penthouse. " I'm confident that the Lebanese economy will improve in the coming years , which means that hotels will experience considerable growth in numbers ." This is what encouraged him furthermore to proceed with the idea .Although he faced a lot of problems with the Lebanese government, Mr. Khalaf knew that everything will go as planned . This is what he had to say about his proudest accomplishment, "I was asked to build some of the first hospitals in the U.A.E. , including Rashid Hospital ,Al-Wasl Hospital ,and the new Dubai Hospital for the government of Dubai as well as hospitals on the east coast for the Federal government ." What Mr. khalaf said about one of the reasons for his success showed his intellectuality and understanding of being a successful businessman ."One of the reasons for the success of the company is the cosmopolitan nature of the country and its people." The Group have gained a lot of experience from it's skilled professional work force, which is drawn from many countries around the world . This multinational group is clearly shown in the groups Headquarter Staff ,where the team includes people of many different nationalities. Although the Habtoor group have a lot of interests outside the U.A.E. ," Dubai will always be a center for business visitors and I believe tourists will be an added bonus " said Mr. Khalaf . His opinion on the future of business and industry in Dubai ,is very optimistic he think Dubai will remain the business center for the Middle East. "It has been said that Dubai will be the new Hong Kong but I do not subscribe to that view ." It is a relaxing haven and that is one of its main attractions. Bibliography:
