Sitting in the back if the half-filled bus I am trying to take to take a clear look at the passengers who are taking the late afternoon Sunday bus ride from Sofia to Blagoevgrad. The one hundred-kilometer distance trip between the two cities has turned into a rather routine experience after the fifth or sixth bus ride. However one can use the time to relax after another sleepless week of studies in AUBG. There are three AUBG students - the first one sleeping, the other trying to concentrate his attention on a thick Business Law textbook and myself striving to put together my AUB102 homework. Most of the people in the bus are sleeping or reading the Sunday press. There is a sense of easiness and leisure in the air almost making me put the notebook away and take a nap. Several Southweastern University students, obviously not having any homework trouble, laughing out loud at some jokes in the front part of the vehicle, end the picture.A middle-aged man sitting on the seat in front of me has been looking for a long time through the bus window. I take a moment to look out of the dusty glass. The flat afternoon sky lays over the gigantic black body of the Rila Mountain on the left. The sun coming from behind low gray clouds is lightning up several spots of snow near the road. The mountaintops too, covered with cream-colored snowcaps, are gleaming with golden, almost transparent light. The glitter gradually begins to fade, as the sun starts disappearing behind a low chain of hills to the west.
