As such, when these individuals do break the rules of ethics, they should be severely punished for their actions as well because of the jobs they do or the position that they hold. In today's fast paced world of business, there seems to be a rise in the number of white-collar crimes. More and more companies are receiving a lot of publicity about unethical and illegal practices. There seems to be a profit at any price being carried out among the business professions today. Today's Americans have a belief that they have set for themselves and for the rest of the world a high example of individual freedom. Americans became a nation with the understanding that government action should not restrict the freedom of individuals to follow their own consciences. Employees are the first to know if something within an organization is not legally or ethically right. Unfortunately they are also the last to speak out about such problems. Know body wants to be a whistle blower on the very company that they are working for. Each corporation should provide an employee bill of rights as well as a system of appeals to guarantee these rights and as a condition of employment, workers at every level should be allowed to voice their concerns about the company's activities or policies.
