In the opinion of Meletus this is a bad thing, to bring on new ways of thinking, Meletus and many others were threatened by Socrates new ways to look at the world, and they also did not like how Socrates made them look foolish during the arguments. The only solution that Meletus could come up with was to accuse Socrates of these things.The sad thing is that Meletus and the other accusers were successful in charging Socrates and having him executed. Their ignorance and close-mindedness had one of the greatest minds ever executed. When Socrates was faced with the choice to live, and no longer teach philosophy or to die, he chose death.
