Taoism in the modern world

e I have read this Tao Te Ching. The Tao is an empty vessel; it is used, but never filled(Tao4) I always thought that when I got out of class and did not have to study that I was through learning for the day. Now I have found out that when I am out and around with people that I can learn a lot more about them, their life experiences, and how their lives are different from mine. I have also learned that some people may now a lot about one thing but that does not mean that they know a lot about everything, and if they do say that they know more than they really do than they are not very wise at all. The wise are not learned: the learned are not wise(The Canon of Reason and Virtue 81). Since those who argue prove nothing a sensible man does not argue(The Way of Life 81). Some one should tell this to Al Gore and George Bush, because Ruler who tries to use cleverness cheats the country. Those who rule without cleverness are a blessing to the land(Tao 65). I now am starting to understand how to live a better life. I did not say that I understand the Tao, because the reason that can be reasoned in not the internal reason(The Canon of Reason and virtue 1). Which means if you think that you understand the Tao than you really do not. I am sill not certain why this is, but maybe with future studying of the Tao will help me understand why. I think that I need to live life by not saying a lot and just seeing where my path takes me. The Tao says that those who do not talk are the ones with the knowledge. As I observe people in class you can tell the ones that are doing better in the class, because they are the ones who are not talking to their peers, and are not asking stupid questions. The ones that sit and listen to everything that the teacher has to say are the smart ones, because they know that the teacher is there to give their knowledge to the students.
