a screen.Some example of Thermal Infrared images :Thermal infrared imagers come in different configurations, some imagers are designed to give actual temperature measurement of the scene along with a colour video representation. This type of imager is called "radiometric" and is used mostly for industrial (predictive maintenance, process control, R&D) and medical ( human & veterinary ) applications. Other imagers are designed primarily for surveillance and / or target acquisition environments. These units can be either hand held or mounted installations. The main differences in surveillance units is going to be the optical components and the resolution of the imager. High end units for surveillance and target acquisition scenarios are capable of human detection at over 1 mile and vehicle detection at over 5 miles.Thermal imaging devices have affected many business fields, for example thermal imagers were a real breakthrough for the fire/rescue service, providing fire fighters with the ability to see through smoke and in completely dark conditions for the first time ever. They have also positively affected property surveillance efforts by stopping the cover of darkness being an advantage to intruders and have assisted polices in the finding of illegal marijuana growing facilities. Thermal imagers are also used a lot in the medical field as a non-invasive way to monitor the human body. The most recent use found for thermal imagers is that of surveying the surface of Mars, they may even be able to use this to see if there is water/ice on this planet. ...
