In addition, how the way a work is written and the pattern of the work helps identify what type of literature it is for example, an essay, poem, play etc. Particular words help a reader imagine a place, time, or setting by the way the author intentionally wants it said. For instance, the style, tone or the way a work is dictated is important because it describes action and creates settings. The way an author uses style can identify him or her from other authors. A work can be humorous to hateful depending on the tone of work. Words can actually become symbols in literature, which help communicate thoughts through imagery with sounds and feelings.
