I believe Miss Villanueva wants to improve herself for her own sake as well as for the more sublime purpose of being able to help others. Several events crystallize my belief in the statements made above. For the purpose of this recommendation, however, I will limit myself to just one. Miss Villanueva approached me at the end her year of Geometry requesting a recommendation for placement in an accelerated Algebra II and Pre-Calculus course. I was initially reticent, upon reviewing her grades in my class. However, after more thorough consideration and personal questioning of Miss Villanueva, it became clear that the periodic sparks of insight she had exhibited throughout the year, coupled with steadily growing motivation and discipline, would see her through to success. My hunch was correct. She performed quite well in the advanced, double-block course. Now she is taking Advanced Placement Statistics. I am convinced through the talent, thoughtfulness, and consistency of character witnessed in this student over the past three years that she is bound to be successful regardless of what path she chooses in life. And she will be a source of light and inspiration to the many others with whom she will come in contact.
