e year, but we needed to focus on our next meet.As it came closer to the meet against our rival, I told them how we needed to work harder then ever to beat this team. The other team had already won the first time, but I told my team that they could win the second time if they tried hard enough. This was more inspirational to tell them that the other team was good, then to tell them the other team was bad. They would have to work harder to beat a good team as opposed to a bad team. We won that meet, because they were highly motivated later on in the year, rather than at the beginning when they thought they were the best.As this season comes to an end, I figured out how I should motivate my lifters during the season. They have to be confident that they can win, but once they start getting over confident, they lose all their determination to get better. The first meet, they thought they were already good enough and didnt have to try hard. But at the next meet, they figured out that they needed to workout extra heavy in order to beat the other team. The season is not over yet, but I plan on motivating them to think they are able to win if they work out as if the other team is working out just as hard....
