Being a Twin

d helping pick out our own clothes. When we do dress alike, it is only for special events. For instance, we are planning to do so for three days at the end of summer, due to our attendance at the Twins Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio and most twins find this a fun way to celebrate being a twin. Most pairs have the same philosophy. They may dress up for holidays or birthdays (the parents and other relatives find it cute), but not on an everyday basis. There are, of course, exceptions to the rule. Some twins like to dress alike all the time, even as grownups. Some have the same friends, and some even have eerily similar personalities. To these people, I say More power to you! I have found it easier not to be one of those people. I have my own style, and would not want to conform, or have my sister conform, to someone elses way of doing things. We only dress or act alike when WE want to, when WE choose to. Besides, the more alike we are, the more it tends to bring on the aforementioned comments.The last rumor that most people hear is that twins share a bond so strong that most people cannot even begin to understand it. This is true for most of us. I have heard it described as like being married to someone you cannot get divorced from. You can avoid your twin, but you will always have a part of him or her with you. You know when they are seriously hurt or when they need to talk. My sister and I can sit across from each other and talk in almost our own language. We can guess what the other is thinking most of the time. A bond extends beyond sister hood. A bond can only come from sharing a life with someone from the beginning of consciousness.As I told you at the beginning I dont know exactly what Im talking about, but I hope I have shed some light on a subject most people dont know very much about.
