PSY Of Personality
PSY Of Personality According to Allport’s view the healthy human personality develops from being subservient in infancy to a mature organism in adulthood. Being as mature as possible for the age that I am, I realize that I haven’t fully reached the climax of adulthood. However, after reviewing Allport’s criteria for the normal healthy adult, I discovered that I have some of the stated characteristics. For instance, the first statement says that the mature adult extends his or herself to people and activities beyond the self. I feel that I acquired this trait as soon as I crossed into my fraternity. All of us were instilled with a bond that mandates that we will help each other out in the time of need (especially in the time of need). Secondly, the next characteristic that I feel that I acquired was the second piece of criteria written by Allport. He said that the mature adult relates warmly to other people, exhibiting intimacy, compassion, and tolerance. Previous jobs that I held demonstrate that I have attained this aspect of Allport’s Healthy Adult Personality. For the past four years I worked at an Elementary School in a Kindergarten enrichment program and an After School Program. This accounted for an innumerable amount of experience with children and taught patience and tolerance. In the long run, I’ll eventually be able to say that I have grown to a healthy mature personality. Bibliography: none required
