She is the middle child of four children, two sisters and one brother. Her father compares her to a walnut tree becuse he says that she is hard to crack. From my point of view she really didn’t have a signifigant role ine the family because she was more of a follower than a leader. Nadia was very close to her mother, two sisters, and even her brother who wasn’t a big part of the family; But like most of the family wasn’t close to her father. For example, while having a conversation with her father and two sisters, her father tells them how their mother hasn’t been a wife to him in ten years, and when Nadia laughs The Defense Mechanism employed by Nadia regarding the death of her mother dying is reaction formation which is the transformation of an unacceptable thought or feeling into an acceptable one. For example, in the movie Nadia and her two sisters tried to convince themselves that dying is not a bad thing in order to deal with the reality that their mother was going to die.
