a crowded room and people gambling in the casino. There are sounds of machines hitting the winning combination and people celebrating the money they just won. The dice hitting the table and rolling off the back wall of the table. Music also plays a large role in this movie. Popular songs ranging from the fifties till the late seventies help set different moods and help influence the audiences reaction to the characters. An example of how important sound is actually provided in the movie itself. The FBI is trying to record a conversation between the two main characters, but are unable to because the two characters are covering their mouths which makes it impossible for the FBI members to see what they are saying. Certain sounds are also used for the FBI phone taps and other means of recordings that thye use. There are special sound effects used when fights break out in the movie. There is a specific sound used when a fist hits someones face or a bat hitting someones body. Overall the sound quality of this movie is good. Return of the Jedi This movie is very similar in sound to its predecessor Star Wars. The voices in Return of the Jedi still play an important roll in the film. Han Solo now speaks in a less rough tone to show that he has a gentler side to him. He is also in love with the princess, so he is a bit more refined now. Luke Skywalker has deeper voice that shows how much he has matured and is more experienced in life and the ways of the force. CP-30 is still has a bit of a crackly voice but not as bad as in Star Wars. There are still aliens or creatures from different other planets that do not speak english and speak in noises not comprehendable to humans. There is a difference in the way the aliens sound. In Star Wars the aliens had deeper voices and were generally evil type characters. In Return of the Jedi the creatures are small and furry and have squeaky voices.
