ay not be their fault at all.Lewis makes some more analogies when he associates us with a fleet of ships of a musical band. When the band is supposed to provide dance music, but actually plays Dead Marches, they are a failure in what music they were supposed to play. What if they played the marches perfectly? Then I guess it wouldnt be a total failure after all. What about when the boat is supposed to go to New York, and it goes to Calcutta? If the boat made it all the way to Calcutta with no problems, then it isnt a total failure either. It sounds like Lewis is saying that when a person doesnt do what people expect, they are dong wrong or not striving to be perfect. I think perfection can only be performed by people who know what to expect, and since we may never know what to expect then we may never know what perfection looks like....
