Whether we migrate here or not many people practice Buddhism, spirituality, polytheism (more than one God) or pantheism (God is in everything including nature). I believe people who condemn us to be a godless culture are actually afraid of differences. Differences of color, clothing, style, music, food and faith. I believe being different and having many cultures in our country makes us stronger in tolerance and acceptance of all human beings. Isn't this what God preaches in the bible. It is quite interesting to note that the divorce rate is higher in the bible belt states, southern states, than other states, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Shouldn't there be less divorces if one God is the best religion over all others. Therefore my argument is that immorality exists in every religion. It has been proven in history that the young are always going to be rebellious, it is just a different type of rebellion in each generation. I personally believe in agnosticism, the philosophical view that whether God exist or not cannot be proven. If I had to put a name on my religion it would be a cross between Buddhism and pantheism. I believe in power of group or individual prayers. Most Christians have prayer groups and they are successful. I believe anytime you get a group together to concentrate or pray for something or someone it will come out positive. There is power in group prayer or individual prayer, no matter what religion or spirituality it comes from. In conclusion, our country is rich with many different ethnic groups with many different cultures and religions. We all are spiritual in some way, it might not be the same as your neighbors faith; however, it is what we each believe in to be able to be compassionate, loving, and giving human beings.
