Koran
Koran The Koran or Qur’an is the sacred scripture of Islam. A scripture so sacred it urges a total commitment to him alone who is god. (Grolier Interactive 98). I found that the Koran as a whole looks out for the well being of others, just as any god would do. The Koran is a setup of laws basically that contains who you can marry or cannot marry, who you should obey and be nice to etc. etc. But what I noticed more is the protection of women. “God has assigned you to manage; provide for them and clothe them out of it, and speak to them honorable words.(Koran front page). And in some cases women are just as equal as men are. For instance “To the men a share of what parents and kinsmen leave, and to the women a share of what parents and kinsmen leave, whether it be little or much a share is apportioned” Meaning that whether you are man or women no matter which person dies first, that other is left with what is left. the Koran also mentioned whom people should marry. “Marry such women as seem good to you”, and “It is not lawful for you to inherit women against there will; neither disbar them.” meaning that you shouldn’t make a women marry of do other wise against their will, because it would be breaking the law.” Over all the Koran seemed to deem women as equals to men which many books don’t. Which is why I chose to write on the Koran rather than the Hadith, even though the Hadith mentioned women as equals as well. Bibliography:
