Life styles The Life style of people in our society has change in the past 10 years. Marriages are not really obsolete they just got a new meaning in the 20th century. With more then 50% of marriages ending in divorce people are waiting longer to get married. The topical reason Marriages fail is because marriage is a two way street and both partners have to agree to make traffic move smoothly. The 20-century has bought a lot of change with technology and life but the biggest change has been in marriage. Marriages have made a big change in our society due to the fact of divorce. Almost 50% of married couples will get a divorce in the next 5 years. The reason for this high divorce is that individuals enter into a relationship for as long as it feels good, for as long as it is satisfying. This risk reducing the marriage, both partners to the vitality and lustiness of a particular moment or period in time. Their unity and being the center of each others life’s is threatened. In Elizabeth McAlister “ Is Marriage Obsolete?” she believes that marriage is still apart of our life and can last if you have the understanding of both husband and wife. She says that the need for sexual intimacy must be protected to have a long-term commitment. Marriage is a commitment to continue, through one’s life, to struggle to become one in love and truth and freedom. When one or both parties abandon that struggle, the marriage is lost or can’t exist no longer. Presently in this country we are facing a change in the way marriages are looked at. With high rates of divorce and younger people waiting for the right time to be married usually the right time in mid to upper 20’s. Bibliography:
