Evil Priests raising dead, or that’s what I hear people think. There are different types of voodoo good and evil. It depends on the priest or mamba who’s raising the dead or saying curses. In my speech I am going to tell you different things that will hopefully change your perspective on this somewhat mysterious subject. I’m going to tell you about what it is and where it started. People usually don’t think this is in the right place. Who does it and some of the gods they worship. And finally how it’s done (the rituals). Voodoo by definition is a religion that is derived from African polytheism and ancestor worship and is practiced chiefly in Haiti. Or a person who deals in spells and necromancy. Every person I talked to said they think it’s all about the evil things. Zombies or Wanga dolls. Its not. Voodoo is used to help people connect to themselves or others. It is used to tell fortunes and make people feel better in mentally and physically. Voodoo originate for Africa by a tribe called the Yoruba tribe. Voodoo dolls were never part of voodoo but came in from New Orleans. The tribe was captured and brought to America as slave. Bought, sold, killed, they suffered and were stuck into the Roman Catholic religion. Forced to practice in secret. Some of their gods are Baka who is the god of evil. They put curses on people who they don’t like. Such as neighboring tribes and commute to him. Ague Mouie Soto is the god of war. When they are at war before they bless themselves so they are successful. Priests are men who do vodun and Mambo or Women who do vodun. They can obviously can be men or Women and women are limited though they cannot do the ritual for raising the dead. There is something about not being trained properly even if a man was training them! The rituals used in voodoo are complicated. In raising the dead there are many different things you have to do you have to first make veve so the Loa can eat. Shake rattles and bang drums purify the soul. Dancing lots of dancing, after that’s over you have to make a sacrifice an animal sacrifice. I think its mean but its part of the rituals. In this speech I just gave I told you some different thing that I am hoping changed your perspective on this subject. Though some of you will still think that this is a horrible religion I know there will be at least one of you I hope the people who saw that this is a cool and not all bad religion will respect those who practice it.
