When in close combat with swords, they fight without regard to their own safety, and while their enemy is intent upon parrying the thrust of the swords, they throw a net over him and so entangle his limbs that he loses all power of walking or riding.In the 440s one of Attilas attacks against the East in the Balkans aimed at a city in the Danubian provinces. The Huns devastated that region. The riverbanks were covered with human body parts and the stench of death was so overwhelming that no one could enter the city. One source says, There was so much killing and bloodletting that no one could number the dead. The Huns pillaged the churches and monasteries, and slew the monks and virgins. It is obvious that Attila and his army were very barbaric. Which leads into my last point, found in chapter seventeen. This chapter states that it is better to be feared than to be loved but be careful not to be hated. Machiavelli states that there is more security in being feared.
