better yourself, you are just laying the path to a deep set of depression. I learned that depression could go unknown for a long period of time, to both yourself and to those around you. Most of the time you wont notice what’s happening to you until you are sitting in a doctor’s office telling him about how you can’t come to grips with yourself and the world around you. He had his ups and downs, but he continued to think of the world as a bad place, and so he never really took of his glasses. Even when Holden confesses that he is in an institution and is telling doctors the story, he is still saying how he doesn’t really have much hope over what his future holds. He looks ahead and sees that he doesn’t really have much in store for himself. He is “Fortune telling” but he just doesn’t realize that he has a second chance to make things right for himself. And hopefully he will prove himself to be happy. This is a very good book if you are trying to understand an adolescent going through some emotional problems such as depression, or a nervous breakdown. It would give parents and others a better understanding of adolescents today, they could see that sometimes we just can’t control how we feel or act. If only people were required to read this book, I believe that we all would have a better base understanding of depression, and what is going on inside the head of some of the people who are suffering from this disorder. I would recommend this book to every one of my friends. I don’t even enjoy reading, but I really liked this ...
