Tess of the D urbervilles

he and her family live, and then in several other towns a bit more sophisticated. More towards the end of the story the main character goes to a place more like a city where a lot of rich people live. Love leads a young woman into impurity. When finally she gets the opportunity to rebuild her life, with another man, her honesty condemns her to failure once again. When her true love is willing to forgive her it is too late. The main character is a naive young woman, who is not aware of the mean intentions of the people in the world.
