The Aims of Education Where Does it Lead Us

e same way as the teacher. In the first grade in primary school, immediately there is mistake made in the educational process of every individual. At least in my country, the teachers make this ignorant mistake in their teaching of first year pupils, by not explaining to the children why do they need education and how can education help them in life. This mistake is made primarily because of the assumption that these children have some knowledge as their teachers. When I reminisce my first year in primary school, I remember that I was feeling discouraged because I couldnt understand courses like mathematics.The teachers dont understand that 1+1=2 doesnt have any meaning for most of the pupils, and that was the case with me. It was finally clear to me that when I would take for example one ball and added to another one I would have two balls. But the teacher didnt bother to explain first how mathematics works, why do we need it and how can we apply it to real life. It is much better and easier to relate the material being taught in the course with real life because thats the only way the human brain can understand something and consequently memorize it. The aims of education are not to make the students memorize information or even worse symbols. Information can easily be stored books, notebooks and today computers. Today with the power of technology, storing information is the last thing the humans must do. Personal computers for instance, can store millions of texts, sounds and pictures. Humans lack this ability. But humans are the ones who can get information and specially direct it toward knowledge. Humans simultaneously get the information and do a thinking process related to that information. Hence, the students today do not only need the scientific information to store it in their brains. They need professors and an educational system, which provides a simplistic connection of the class material with the every-day life. I d...
