eady for the second Industrial Revolution.The Second Industrial RevolutionThe second Industrial revolution proved more drastic, not only in inventions, but in government policies also. Art and culture also grew and were transformed into many different styles. This revolution used the power of electricity to help develop technology and help social and home life. Michael Faraday, a British scientist, demonstrated how an electric current could be made. Electricity improved life by supplying people with light, and electricity to power machines. The telephone and the telegraph were invented with the use of electricity. Radio waves were also discovered and now messages could be sent over long distances in a matter of seconds.Advances in Science were also made during the second revolution. The discovery of radioactivity by Marie Curie helped to discover the nuclear bomb. During the 1800's over 70,000 chemical compounds were broken down. (Some of these were petroleum, synthetic dyes and vulcanized rubber) Gasoline and Petroleum are still used widely. Gasoline is used in vehicles and Petroleum is used as an alternate energy source. TransportationThe internal combustion engine made transportation faster and less public. A person wouldn’t need public transportation anymore because they could have their own car. After the invention of the car, a new field of transportation was born. Orville and Wilbur Wright completed the first successful airplane flight at Kitty Hawk.Advances in Science were also made during the second revolution.
