it to Kingston. When he was visiting relatives he met his half cousin Isabella Clark. She came to see him in 1843 and thats when they decided to get married. The finally got married on September, 1, 1843. He had 2 sons with her and 1 died at infancy. Then later on they got divorced an than got re married to Susan Agnes Bernard on 1867 and they had 1 daughter. Sir John A Macdonald died quietlty on Saturday, June 6, 1891. He was 76 years old. Macdonalds accomlishments started when he was a young boy. When he was only 21 he had opened his own practice in Kingston. After that he started being successful. In 1844 he was elected to the Province of Canada Assembly in the election in October and that is where he took his first seat in the legislative body, he was also re-elected in 1848, 1851, 1854, 1857, 1861 and 1863. After that his political career began well, he was soon to become the Reciever General in the Conservative government of W.H Draper in May 1847. In 1857 Macdonald became the Premier of the Province of Canada. In Feburuary 25, 1858 Cartier and Macdonald met the new session of Parliment that opened in Toronto. Until 1862 Macdonald and Cartier still remained in power. In 1866 Macdonald was the chairman of the London Conference. In 1864 he joined the coalition with George Brown, the leader of Upper Canada reformers. In that year he was a delegate to the Charlottetown and Quebec Conferences, and became the principal author of the Confederation. His biggest accomplishment was in 1867 when he was named Canadas first Prime Minsiter, after Confederation. Sir John A. Macdonald should have a school named after him because he was a great leader for Canada and he has done a lot for our country. A great way to show our respect is to have a school named after him. He had a great role in Confederation, so if he didn't do any thing maybe Canada wouldn't be like it is now. So thats why we should have a school named after him. These were the...
