group of investors started the worlds first human cloning company, which was named Clonaid. Clonaid was started from the fact that the Raelians believe that human life on Earth was created a human extraterrestrial race whose named, ELOHIM, is found in the Hebrew Bible and was mistranslated by the word God. The Raelian followers also believe that Jesus was resurrected through an advanced cloning technique performed by the ELOHIM. (Rael Web site) Clonaids cloning service is targeting a vast array of people, from sterile and homosexual couple who cant have children to people who would like to clone themselves. But the cloning does not come at an inexpensive price, the price of cloning a human is said to run at $200,000 and to have your cells insured for life is costing around $50,000 dollars. Some other interesting things that Clonaid is said to offer are personally genetic repair kits. The Raelian claim that scientists have discovered a means to stop the evolution of stem cells before they become differentiated in the fetus. They also claim that they will soon be able to trigger the stem cells to evolve into specific organs. If a sample of your cells was preserved today, the genetic material it contains could later be used to generate new stem cells through cloning and, in turn, used to repair the defective organs that you may suffer from. This would prevent organ rejection since the genetic material would be yours and therefore compatible with your body. (RaelUSA) Another service that Clonaid plans to offer will be the cloning of personally pets. The service will also offer the cloning of racehorses, which Clonaid sees as a very promising market based on the prices people pay to produce champions. The cloning of humans may sound like something that could never happen, but in all reality a clone of a human is not that far off. In 1997 Ian Wilmut and his colleagues at the Roslin Institute in Scotland used a technique called s...
