n Eighteen-E as it moved west at 10 knots with a wind speeds at about 25 knots. It moved into the Central Pacific on September 6th where it remained a tropical depression for two days. As it continued to intensify, it was upgraded to a tropical storm and named Iniki of September 8th. Iniki continued on a westward path increasing its motion to 12 knots.
