The first type, particulatematter, consist of solid and liquid aerosois suspended inthe atmosphere. The second type is sulfur oxides which comefrom the burning of coal and industrial processes. The thirdtype of pollutant is carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide iscolorless, odorless, tasteless gas against which humans haveno protection. The fourth type is hydrocarbons which arechemical compounds containing only carbon and hydrogen. Thelast type is nitrogen oxides that come form high temperaturecombustion, such as that occurring in motor vehicle engines,electric power plants and other fuel usage. All thesepollutants are destroying our planet in front of our eyesand there isnt much were are doing.
