Hamlet is in the good favor of the people of Denmark throughout the play. The final chapter in The Prince states when a country is at its worst it is a perfect time for a new prince to take command. If he can unite the people and then relieve them of any of their woes he will be beloved. This is evident at the end of Hamlet. With the government of Denmark in shambles, Fortinbras walked right into Denmark and took it over.Machiavelli’s beliefs and writings are very evident in Hamlet. I do agree with much of Machiavelli’s writings. The ideal prince has to be or close to what Machiavelli states. Machiavelli's version of government was considered so objectionable that his works were condemned and placed on the Church's Index of Prohibited Books (Encarta). Condemned or not, Machiavelli's descriptions were so clear that he was, and still is, read by all rulers and students of political science....
